In the One-Hand Clean & Jerk, the lifter uses an under-hand grip, palm up, like the curl. As he pulls the weight as high as he can, the lifter will jump 90 degrees to the side away from the lifting hand to catch the bar at his shoulder. He is now facing the side of the platform. Now, he will dip down a few inches in order to jerk the bar overhead. If the right hand is being used, split with the right leg to the front. If using the left hand, split with the left leg to the front. Some lifters like to use a semi-squat.
Recover from the jerk by bringing the feet together. There is no need to face the front of the platform. Wait for the down signal.
